Protect your email

http://www.gishpuppy.com

The above link is for a "disposable email address" site. What is that I hear you ask. Well it was a new one on me but I have registered on this site in the last few minutes and it is simplicity itself.

The site places a browser add on to create email addresses. When in the future you are registering use the Gish add on by right clicking and a disposable address is created. Any emails sent to this address will then be forwarded to your own personal email address.

The new email address can be cancelled at anytime. It therefor provides an extra layer of security.

Competitions

I have promised to have a look at competitions on this page . The one just posted is a photographic competition by the Royal Horticultural Society with a closing date of 26Th October 2007.

The competition has six categories with an over all winning prize of £1,000. Its worth an entry at £5 or £4 for members.

WARNING Warning Warning

I placed a bid on eBay yesterday for a couple of books. This morning I received two phis hing emails supposedly from Pay Pal. The email address is "account@security-update.com " so be warned. #It probably goes without saying to all those in the know "Treat all unsolicited emails with caution."

A further update on this Post , I have now received another phishing email from this source

update on Green Metropolis

I was initially impressed. Two of the books I ordered arrived today. This led to a little annoyance when one of the books was in worse condition than advertised.

When selling books the site allows the condition of the book to be described on a scale from "as new" through to "acceptable". One of the books described as good was rather less than that. The books pages are yellowed with age, the cover badly stained on the back and a large crease down the left side where it opens.

I have emailed >Green Metropolis >and will let you know what happens.

You Are Emerald Green

Deep and mysterious, it often seems like no one truly gets you.
Inside, you are very emotional and moody - though you don't let it show.
People usually have a strong reaction to you... profound love or deep hate.
But you can even get those who hate you to come around. There's something naturally harmonious about you.

Green Metropolis

What a find. The site at http://www.greenmetropolis.com/ is a must for all those who enjoy reading. Lets be honest you need to read to write well. All books are "recycled "at a cost of £3.75 with postage for the most part free. Postage can be charged for larger heavier items.

The concept behind the site is to sell second hand books or as the site states "recycle" books to save trees. £3 of the sale price goes to the sellers account, the balance less0.05pence is retained by Green Metropolis to cover costs. The five pence goes to a charity to [plant trees.

The site has thousands of books for sale on a vast range of subjects. Thankfully it is possible to search the site in several ways, book title, author, and ISBN number. A further useful facility is a "wish list" where once registered the site will email you if a particular book comes up for sale.

It is free to advertise your own books so clear your bookshelves to make room for all those titles you have not realised you wanted until now.

Use of the site is very straight forward as it is well laid out and sign posted. I have ordered several books and placed quite a few for sale so I will keep you informed of progress.

Reviews 4 You

Hello and Welcome to the latest spin off from Dunlewey Muses www.dunleweymuses.blogspot.com

Dunlewey Muses began life as a class blog which due to lack of computer skills within the group morphed into my own blog on literary life in Belfast and beyond. Over the several months of blogging I had reviewed several books but always felt there was room for more. This blog will review web sites, books, magazines in fact anything that I feel relevant. If you wish to have anything reviewed contact me at mrd56@hotmail.co.uk. All suggestions, provided constructive, will be gratefully received.
